Description
The Serenay is a short, lined batwing jacket sewing pattern that works as a light spring jacket or, in a heavier fabric, as a warm winter coat. The sleeves are cut in one piece with the body (a batwing or dolman sleeve), which gives a soft, roomy shoulder line. A lapel collar, welt pockets and button sleeve tabs add tailored detail, and the lining gives a clean finish inside. Sew it in gabardine for spring or in a wool blend for winter. The video tutorial shows the whole construction, including the collar, the welt pockets and the lining.

Fabric Suggestions
Main fabric: choose non-stretch woven fabrics suited to jackets and coats, such as gabardine, canvas, Chanel-style tweed, wool blends or faux leather. Stretch and knit fabrics are not recommended.
Lining: lightweight, non-stretch polyester or cotton-blend fabrics, such as a smooth satin-finish lining, polyester lining or poplin.
Sizes
Available in three sizes, each sold separately: S (EU/TR 36–38), M (EU/TR 40–42) and L (EU/TR 44–46). A bundle with all sizes is also available.

How to Measure
- Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.
- Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist (just above the belly button).
- Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, about 20 cm (8”) below your waistline.
Notes
- This chart is based on woven fabrics (non-stretch). For stretchy fabrics, you may size down.
- All Modella Patterns include seam allowance unless otherwise stated.
- Compare your body measurements with the finished garment measurements in product photos for the best fit.
